With increasingly hot summers, the inflatable pool has become a must-have for French families. Practical, affordable, and easy to set up, it transforms any garden into a refreshing oasis.
Essential criteria before buying
Size and capacity
For a family of 4, opt for a pool at least 3 meters in diameter. 366 cm models are ideal. For 2 people, a 244 cm model will suffice.
Material strength
Reinforced 3-layer PVC is the quality standard. Inflatable rings must have a non-return safety valve.
Filtration: essential
Without a filter pump, the water becomes cloudy after 5 to 7 days. A 2,000 to 3,000 L/h cartridge filter is sufficient for family pools.
Step-by-step installation
1. Choose a flat, clear area. 2. Lay down a protective ground mat. 3. Inflate the rings to the correct pressure. 4. Fill gradually. 5. Treat the water as soon as it's filled.
Maintenance: the 3 golden rules
Test pH and chlorine every 2-3 days. Cover the pool when not in use. Drain every 2-3 weeks in hot weather.
Total budget for the season
Pool €50-150 + pump €30-60 + treatment products €30-50 = €130 to €260 for the entire season, compared to €3,000 for a semi-inground pool.
